Dissimilar to the hackneyed images of bloody brawls and mass carnage that resonate upon the utterance of the word fight, the first issue of Volume VIII of The Platypus sets out to examine personal struggles and torments endured in an effort to reign victorious in a myriad of battles. Blind to the distinct motivations for fighting, the articles, poetry, and artwork within attempt to portray the multiple facets pertaining to every fight waged by humanity. Despite the violent and negative connotation which has justifiably become associated with fighting, the intention of Teen Leadership Council in this issue remains to envelop both common and rare scrutiny in reference to the word fight.
