Welcome Message
Welcome to the Teen Leadership Council website. Teen Leadership Council (link to about) is a youth leadership group dedicated to the expression of teen voice in the mountain community. TLC website members are from many different cultures and represent a tremendous diversity in age, backgrounds, locale and points of view. Our goal is to promote youth voice in a respectable and open-minded way and we expect members to be considerate and supportive. When submitting articles and comments to this site, you agree to abide by the following Terms and Conditions of Use.:
Overall Community Attitude & Rules of Conduct
Keep in mind TLC is a youth-centered website.
Our purpose is to promote youth voice in a way that opens up conversation rather than shutting it down.
Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion and we welcome different points of view.
It is okay to disagree with another person’s opinion, article, and/or artwork, but use constructive feedback that does not defame the person – personal attacks will not be allowed.
Threats, or implied threats, even if you think it is funny will not be tolerated.
Posts should be of a positive nature whenever possible, discussions are welcome as long as they are done in a respectful and thoughtful way.
Rules for Submission/Comments:
NO artwork or images that contain nudity, semi-nudity, pornography, and sexually suggestive or gory material will be accepted.
NO sexually explicit comments or posts will be accepted.
NO profanity; however you may be creative in using substitute words.
NO discriminatory, offensive, obscene, indecent, defamatory, threatening, harassing, abusive, derogatory or hateful comments, articles or images will be tolerated.
NO personal threats or harassment will be tolerated.
NO posts or images that promote the sale, use, distribution or manufacturing of illicit or illegal drugs and/or alcohol will be accepted.
For your personal safety, DO NOT submit personal information (other than your first name or screen name) about yourself or others.
DO NOT violate the copyright of the images and/or articles on this site. We welcome schools and educational institutions to use the information on the site for educational purposes. We do not allow the commercial use of either the text or images without prior written consent from TLC.
Maintain good conduct while commenting: keep comments on topic, no excessive use of caps, large fonts or punctuation, and no text messaging shorthand.
DO NOT post on behalf of someone else.
NO spam, commercial solicitation, junk mail, chain letters or copyrighted material will be accepted.
